A 38 year-old is murdered by the Green River killer in Washington.

An 18 year-old fashion student was found dead in a housing project stairwell on 112st on Fifth Ave in East Harlem, NY

An actor/comedian is shot to death by his wife in their Los Angeles, California home after an heated argument the night before. His wife committed suicide shortly after. 

A 13 year-old girl went missing in Seaside, California as she walked her dog. The dog returned without her. The child's body was found 7 months later 3 miles from her home. DNA found on the child was linked to a man and he was charged for her murder. He was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.

A 49 year-old man was murdered in Jasper, Texas when 3 men placed him behind their pickup truck and dragged him 3 miles to his death. He died during the violent ordeal when his body was severed after hitting the edge of a culvert. This hate crime was considered one of the most heinous in American history and pushed for strong laws protecting citizens against hate crimes. 2 of Byrd's killers were active white supremists and were sentenced to death. They were given the lethal injection in the 2010s. 

A 21 year-old man goes missing after leaving with two men from a lounge in Laramie, Wyoming. The two men offered him a ride home, but instead tortured him and killed him. He was brutally murdered for his sexuality. This was considered one of the most brutal hate crimes in American history. His parents maintain their son's memory with the Matthew Shepard foundation and it helps spread awareness against hate.
